Clountarrive House is a delightful, spacious self catering country farmhouse conveniently situated between Tralee and Killarney on the edge of the Ring of Kerry. The house has excellent facilities for family holidays with many wonderful locations and places of interest nearby. |

The character interior offers comfortable rooms with tasteful décor and furnishings throughout. The spacious sitting room, on the ground floor, features an open fireplace and is well equipped with comfortable seating, TV, radio, stereo/CD player and DVD. The large dining room has space to seat eight people comfortably and the fully fitted modern kitchen has a full complement of appliances including a dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, tumble dryer and washing machine. There is a ground floor cloakroom with an electric shower and a laundry room. Upstairs are the four bedrooms and a family bathroom. There are three double bedrooms and a twin room. A travel cot is provided. The house has oil fired central heating throughout and all bed linen and towels are provided free of charge. The house is very child friendly with a large colourful garden providing space for children to play, in addition to the patio and garden furniture for relaxing outdoors. This is a wonderful base from which to tour the beautiful southwest coast of Ireland. Whether you’re looking for a restful stay or prefer a more active holiday, there is a varied and interesting range of activities within easy reach of Clountarrive House including angling, shooting, horse riding, pony trekking, golfing, boating, mountaineering and hill walking. The golfer will find an unbeatable combination of breathtaking natural scenery and thrilling courses within a half-hour drive most notably Ballybunion Links Course, Killarney and the first European golf course designed by Arnold Palmer located at Barrow. For information on local golf clubs visit www.gui.ie The ring of Kerry is dotted with glorious beaches and coves. With such a long coastline sea and shore fishing is widely available as is excellent game angling. The new 100-berth marina facility developed at Fenit, just 8 miles from Tralee, is very popular as a stop for touring the west coast of Ireland. For those who are interested in history and archaeology there are many outstanding items of interest to be seen including Kerry’s famous "Crag caves" which are thought to be over a million years old, formed of limestone. It is a colourful wonderland of stalagmites and stalagtites plus Killarney house and gardens dating back to the 18th Century. Tralee is just 11 km away and offers wonderful shopping, pubs and restaurants. Tralee Aqua Dome - Ireland's biggest waterworld complex is a treat for all the family. The 75 acre town park features a rose garden and has a modern children’s playground and pets corner. Also worth visiting are the splendid Ash Memorial Houses and the Kerry county museum. A ride in the steam train from Tralee to Blenerville's 201 year old restored windmill is a must. Other options include the four screen multiplex cinema, indoor kiddies adventure centre, walking tours for both the Dingle Way and the North Kerry Way commence in Tralee suitable for both the casual and serious walker and Siamsa Tire-The National Folk Theatre of Ireland. Killarney (21 Km) also offers a wealth of opportunities with shopping, pubs and restaurants, Muckross House and Muckross traditional farms, the Museum of Irish Transport, National Farm Museum, Model Railway- over 1,000 sq. ft. of fascinating detail, with scores of trains on over a mile of track, Monkey’s Adventureland and, for the energetic, walking tours and mountain climbing. Killarney hosts Ireland’s highest mountain Carrauntoohil at 1,039 m and Killarney National Park is an area renowned for its abundant flora and fauna. |
