| Cottage Mary Rose is a lovingly renovated 18th century thatched stone cottage. The cottage exudes the essence of olde world charm, nestling in a picturesque valley with a stream flowing to the rear of the property. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Interior |

| The interior has been lovingly
refurbished, keeping the charm of yesterday with all of the conveniences
of today. Furnished in antique Irish pine one gets a true feel of
Irish life in the 1800's.
As you enter through the traditional Irish double door you are greeted by a beautiful rustic stone fireplace and soaring ceilings. The hearth room is probably the most typical with it's cosy hearth side bench. The adjoining sitting room is a great place to curl up on the sofa and read while also enjoying the fireplace and views of the emerald green hills. This sofa also folds out to accommodate two guests. Enjoy the TV and VCR from here as well. |

| There is an
ensuite bedroom off this
room containing a double bed,
a dressing table and Gothic coat press (armoire), a perfect
place for clothing storage. There is a
pleasant view over the garden and ravine. Above the sitting room is a loft bedroom that overlooks the fireplace and has a single bed. At the other end of the cottage is a huge dining room with a large farm table that can seat up to eight. The oil burning stove adds to this already great feeling this room has. The main bedroom is off the kitchen and has a double bed, dressing table and ensuite shower/WC. It's views are of the ravine and front garden. The kitchen is fitted with a red cast iron Aga stove, a dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer combo. A full window overlooks the garden. There is a door that leads out to the patio where you can sit and listen to the rushing stream below. The new luxury bathroom has a whirlpool tub - a great place to relax after a long day - and an invigorating massage shower. All floors are gleaming pine and slate. |

Cottage
Mary Rose is surrounded by a fuchsia hedge and original stone
walls, making it is a great place to relax
and have an outdoor meal or explore the garden. There
is a terrace overlooking the stream and ravine, from where you can enjoy the
natural setting from the hot tub. Within a couple minutes walk is Kearneys, the local grocer and Hughes pub. The area is great for an energetic walk or a peaceful stroll. Take a short drive into Castleisland and you will find quaint shops, pubs and restaurants. Only a 20 minute ride away is the Kilearney National Park which is also the starting point of the famed "Ring of Kerry". Head in the other direction and within 14 miles you will be in Tralee, the gateway of the Dingle Peninsula, which is considered to be the most western point of Europe. Here the views of the Atlantic Ocean are incredible. There are many local activities such as
golf and horse back riding. Crag Cave, with its gift shop and
restaurant, is just 5 minutes away.
Tralee is the county town of County Kerry, in the south west corner
of Ireland. The name Tralee comes from the Irish 'Trá Lí', or 'Trá Laoi',
which means 'strand of the Lee' (river), although some believe it comes
from the Irish 'Trá Liath' meaning 'grey strand'. The town is situated on
the northern side of the neck of the Dingle Peninsula
and is the largest town in Kerry. Places of interest: Kerry County
Museum – incorporating the theme park 'Kerry: The Kingdom' and an exhibit
which depicts life in medieval Geraldine Tralee. Siamsa Tire-Folk theatre – offering traditional music and plays in
Irish. Blennerville Windmill located about 2 km outside the town, Ireland's
largest still functioning windmill. Tralee Aquadome - A large indoor water leisure facility with a
mini-golf course, located near Fels point, just off the Dan Spring road,
at the Western exit from the town. The Sliabh Mish mountain range acts as
a pretty backdrop to the site. |
